01Who we are
AFTERSCAPE Media is a trading name of Oliver McRobie, a sole trader based in Eccleshall, Staffordshire. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law.

02Who this notice covers
- People who visit this website or fill in one of our forms
- People who contact us about our services
- Our clients
- Businesses we contact about our services, and the people who run them
- Homeowners whose property appears in photos a trade sends us for a visual
03What we collect and where it comes from
When you contact us
Your name, business name, phone number, email address and anything you tell us, such as the job you’d like visualised.
If you’re a client
Billing details, the words and photos for your website or visuals, and our records of the work we do for you.
If we’ve contacted your business
Your business name, trade, business phone number, business email address, business address or area, website address, your public review rating and count, and notes from our conversations. We take these from public sources: your business’s public Google listing, your own website, public trade directories and Companies House.
Photos for visuals
Photos of homeowners’ properties that trades send us so we can make a visual of the job they’re quoting. For these photos we act on the trade’s behalf, and we use them only to make that visual.
04Why we use it, and our legal basis
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to enquiries and give quotes | Legitimate interests, and steps you ask us to take before a contract |
| Do the work for our clients | Contract |
| Keep accounts and tax records | Legal obligation |
| Offer our services to local trade businesses by phone, post or in person | Legitimate interests |
| Send marketing emails | Legitimate interests for limited companies and LLPs at business addresses; your consent for everyone else |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we’ve weighed our interests against yours. You can ask us for a copy of that assessment.
05How we contact businesses
- We only phone numbers we’ve checked against the Telephone Preference Service and the Corporate TPS in the previous 28 days. We always give our name and show our number.
- We write to businesses by post, and sometimes call in at a yard or office.
- We email limited companies and LLPs at their business address. We only email sole traders and partnerships if they’ve agreed to it.
- We don’t send marketing texts or WhatsApp messages unless you’ve asked us to.
- Every marketing email includes a simple way to stop further emails.
07How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that don’t lead to work | 12 months |
| Business details we collected to offer our services | Up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a client or ask us to stop |
| Our do-not-contact list | For as long as we trade, so we never contact you again. We keep only what we need to recognise you |
| Client records | 6 years after our work ends, for tax and legal reasons |
| Photos of homeowners’ properties | Deleted 90 days after we deliver the visual, unless the trade asks us to keep them |
08Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your information
- limit how we use it
- stop using it, including for marketing, at any time
- send it to you or another organisation in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email or call us. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month.
